Who it’s for:
Athletes and active individuals looking to recover faster and improve performance.
Those with acute issues—a frozen shoulder, a locked-up lower back, a muscle spasm—that need targeted treatment to regain movement.
Desk workers and professionals experiencing tension-related pain, stiffness, or posture-related discomfort.
Anyone looking for a lasting solution, rather than a short-lived fix, through better movement and body awareness.
Case Studies: Common Issues I Work With
-
Issue: A client new to weightlifting was struggling with constant muscle soreness (DOMS) that lasted for days, alongside recurring neck and shoulder tightness that kept halting progress. Training consistency was becoming a challenge due to frequent discomfort.
Approach: We identified that their upper traps were over-recruiting during lifts, largely due to a postural issue from their work that had caused dominant muscles to compensate excessively, leading to strain. They had also been neglecting warm-downs and stretching between PT sessions, leaving muscles tight and fatigued. Treatment focused on reducing tightness, improving scapular stability and optimising recovery strategies. With targeted massage, a focus on redressing their muscle imbalance and the introduction of a proper stretching and warm-down routine, they were able to train more consistently and avoid setbacks from recurring discomfort. -
Issue: A client who spends much of the day lifting and carrying a child, while also dealing with disrupted sleep, had ongoing stiffness and discomfort in the shoulders and lower back.
Approach: Treatment focused on releasing tension in the lower back and shoulders while addressing the imbalances caused by regularly carrying weight on one side. Hands-on therapy and posture resets helped restore more balanced movement and reduce daily discomfort. -
Issue: A client who spends long hours at a laptop, frequently using a trackpad with one hand, was experiencing chronic neck and shoulder tension, often leading to headaches.
Approach: Work focused on releasing built-up tension in the upper traps and chest while addressing the forward head posture caused by extended screen time. Targeted movement resets supported better posture and helped reduce pain in the long term. -
Issue: A keen tennis player had been dealing with a recurring hamstring strain that never seemed to fully heal.
Approach: Rather than focusing solely on the hamstring, assessment revealed that tight quads and hip flexors were pulling the pelvis into a position that placed extra strain on the hamstrings. A combination of hands-on therapy and strength-based mobility exercises supported recovery and improved movement efficiency. -
Issue: A client who cycles regularly for commuting was struggling with persistent lower back discomfort, especially after longer rides.
Approach: Tight hip flexors and an imbalanced core were found to be placing excess strain on the lower back while in the saddle. Hands-on therapy, combined with guided core engagement techniques, helped improve posture and reduce discomfort during and after cycling.
